Dedicated to excellence and devoted to healing since 1908, Mercy Medical Center, is a ministry of the Sisters of Charity Health System which operates a 476-bed hospital serving Stark, Carroll, Wayne, Holmes and Tuscarawas Counties and parts of Southeastern Ohio. It has 620 members on its medical staff and employs 2,500 people.
Our client is seeking an experienced Director of Women and Children’s Services who demonstrates critical thinking skills, scientific judgment and leadership in the anticipation and planning for the departmental scope of service; facility planning, budgetary issues and patient care delivery.
The Director assumes responsibility and accountability for the management of human and physical resources within the Women and Children’s Services Department to deliver affordable, quality care on a 24-hour basis. Maintains operations aspect of patient care units in collaboration with other departments and within cost-containment guidelines established by the hospital. Supports the philosophy and objectives of nursing and the organization. Ensures compliance with established standards, practices and regulatory requirements by all nursing personnel. The Director of Women and Children’s Services serves as a role model for professional nursing practice and participates in assessment, planning and implementation of age and cultural appropriate care according to patient population.
- Education: Bachelor of Science in nursing degree required. Master’s Degree required.
- Licensure/Certification: Current Ohio RN license required.
- Experience:Three to five years of acute care experience required with five or more years of experience preferred. Minimum of two years of management experience required.
